Sringeri: This town has a lot of temples and it also houses one of the four peethas of seats of learning for Hindus. – Talakaveri: This place is famous for being the location where Krishna slew an asura named Jalandhara and then threw his body into a nearby river. The water that flows out from this river is considered holy and it is believed that this is the same water that Krishna quenched his thirst from.

This place has a lot of temples and is home to the Sharada Peeth which houses one of the most important Hindu shrines in India.
