The 26-episode season of Demon Slayer packs a lot into it, but the finale contains some major revelations that will have a big impact on what happens next for the demon-slaying team. With season 3 on the horizon, let’s review the plot to bring new viewers up to speed while also determining whether the show is too frightening for children to watch. We have to warn you that you will be inundated with entertaining spoilers!!!

How Does the Story Start?

Tanjiro is portrayed as a good-hearted man with a superior sense of smell to that of a normal human, allowing him to perform near-supernatural feats like sniffing demon blood. Except for Nezuko, Tanjiro returns home after selling charcoal in town to find that his entire family has been murdered by a demon.

Tanjiro, who is also a fantastic runner, sprints to a nearby town. On the other hand, Mizuko attacks him. Giyu Tomioka, one of the show’s titular demon slayers, approaches them, and Tanjiro tries to fend her off. He reveals that Nezuko has turned into a demon and tries to behead her with his Nichirin Blade, the only weapon capable of decapitating a demon.

As he tries to protect Nezuko, Tomioka effortlessly knocks out Tanjiro. But then something unusual happens: Nezuko, whose demon nature should drive her to devour everyone, including her brother, intervenes to save him. Tomioka knocks Nezuko out rather than killing her. Following Nezuko’s reawakening, Tomioka advises Tanjiro to seek out Sakonji Urokodaki, who later becomes Tanjiro’s swordmaster.

Urokodaki teaches Tanjiro the Breath of Water style of swordsmanship to aid him in becoming a demon hunter and preparing for the terrible trial known as the Final Selection, which is an important part of that procedure. On the other hand, Urokodaki eventually stops training Tanjiro and gives him the near-impossible task of cutting through a boulder. Urokodaki later admits that he is sorry for the deaths of two of his students, Makomo and Sabito, at the Final Selection, and that he is attempting to save Tanjiro from the same fate.

Tanjiro is aided in splitting the boulder in half by the ghosts of Makomo and Sabito. Urokodaki advances the child to the competition’s final round, where he defeats the demon who murdered Makomo and Sabato. At the end of the trial, there are only four swordsmen left, two of whom we’ll go over in more detail later. Tanjiro chooses an ore that will be transformed into his Nichirin Sword using his acute sense of smell.

Demon Slayer age rating

Demon Slayer has a TV-MA rating. The anime revolves around Tanjiro’s training as a slayer and his desire to heal his sister. Demons are ruthless, murderous creatures who devour their victims in the show. The anime graphically depicts these attacks, with blood and gore being a staple of the series.

Decapitation is common because it is used to exorcise demons. The overall goal of every slayer is to kill the demons they come across until they are wiped out of existence, so there are intense fighting sequences and strong violence.

Is demon Slayer Scary?

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba is an anime series with a lot of fantasy violence, blood, and scary-looking demonic creatures. It is critical that guardians or parents are aware of this. Young children are among the dead and possessed, and characters are seen eating human flesh.

Although the themes are frightening, the show does contain gore that could be potentially frightening to children.

Profanity is present in Demon Slayer, but it is only occasional and mild, according to ShonenRoad experts. The same can be said for drinking and smoking. So far, there are no sex scenes or fanservice in the series. With that said, the anime consistently depicts gore and violence that potentially scare your children, this is why it is advised that parents should view the content before allowing their kids to do so.
